Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups chocolate pudding (store-bought or homemade)
- 3 large bananas, sliced
- 2 cups whipped cream (or whipped topping of choice)
- 1 cup crushed graham crackers (or your favorite cookie)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chocolate shavings
- 1/4 cup maraschino cherries, for topping
- Optional: 1/4 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or pecans), for extra crunch
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients:
Make sure your chocolate pudding is ready, whether it’s store-bought or homemade. Slice the bananas and set aside. Crush the graham crackers into small crumbs. - Assemble the First Layer:
In a trifle dish or individual dessert cups, spread a layer of crushed graham crackers as the base. Press down gently to create a solid layer. - Add Chocolate Pudding Layer:
Spoon a layer of chocolate pudding over the graham cracker crumbs. Spread it evenly, ensuring it reaches the edges of the dish. - Layer the Bananas:
Arrange a layer of sliced bananas over the pudding. Make sure the bananas cover the entire surface to ensure an even distribution of flavors. - Add Whipped Cream:
Spread a layer of whipped cream over the bananas. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to create a smooth layer. - Repeat Layers:
Repeat the layers (crushed graham crackers, pudding, bananas, and whipped cream) until you reach the top of the dish or run out of ingredients, ending with a layer of whipped cream. - Top with Chocolate Chips and Cherries:
Sprinkle chocolate chips or chocolate shavings over the top layer of whipped cream. Add maraschino cherries for garnish, and, if desired, sprinkle chopped nuts for extra crunch. - Chill the Trifle:
Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4-6 hours, or overnight if possible. This chilling time helps the flavors meld and allows the trifle to set. - Serve and Enjoy:
Once chilled, serve the trifle with a spoon, scooping down to get all the layers. Enjoy this delicious, no-bake treat!
