- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 4 sub rolls
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until browned and cooked through (internal temperature should reach at least 160°F/70°C).
- While the meatballs bake, heat marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until warmed.
- Assemble the subs by placing several meatballs in each sub roll, spooning marinara sauce over them, and topping with shredded mozzarella.
- Broil assembled subs for about 2 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
