Description

Indulge in the ultimate comfort food with these easy meatball subs! Perfectly seasoned, juicy meatballs are nestled in a warm sub roll, drenched in rich marinara sauce, and topped with melted mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes until browned and cooked through (internal temperature should reach at least 160°F/70°C).
  5. While the meatballs bake, heat marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat until warmed.
  6. Assemble the subs by placing several meatballs in each sub roll, spooning marinara sauce over them, and topping with shredded mozzarella.
  7. Broil assembled subs for about 2 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
