Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 Oreo cookies (regular or seasonal)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate melts (dark or white chocolate)
  • Food coloring (orange, black, or any Halloween colors)
  • Edible decorations (Halloween-themed sprinkles, candy eyes, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oreo Mixture: In a large bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  2. Assemble the Cookies: Take 12 Oreo cookies and carefully twist them apart. Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on the filling side of each half. Press the other half back on top to form a sandwich. Repeat with the remaining cookies.
  3. Chill the Cookies: Place the assembled cookies on a baking sheet and refrigerate for about 30 minutes. This helps the filling firm up and makes the cookies easier to handle.
  4. Melt the Chocolate: While the cookies chill, melt the chocolate melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until fully melted and smooth. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to the melted chocolate to create a festive hue.
  5. Dip the Cookies: Once the cookies have chilled, dip each cookie into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Use a fork to lift the cookie out and gently tap it against the bowl to remove excess chocolate.
  6. Decorate: Place the dipped cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. While the chocolate is still wet, add your decorations such as sprinkles or candy eyes to create spooky designs.
  7. Let Set: Allow the cookies to sit at room temperature until the chocolate hardens, or you can speed up the process by placing them back in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes.
  8. Serve: Once the chocolate is set, your Oreo Halloween Cookies are ready to enjoy! Serve them on a festive platter and watch them disappear at your Halloween gathering.
